Pneumatic conveying has revolutionized the way businesses handle their bulk materials. Magnum System is a standout partner for production in the minerals industry, providing everything from basic packaging to a complete plant design and build. Whether the raw materials are quarried in crushed rock or clay form, our involvement spans the bulk material handling spectrum.
We pneumatically convey and package the product, ensuring it remains clean and dry and is transported efficiently even when the path to its destination isn’t straight and has many elbows along the way.
“We serve mineral industries across the full spectrum, to name a few, would be products like silica, calcium, barite, bentonite, cement, sands, kaolin clay, attapulgite clay, talc, sulfur, salt, lithium, magnesium, carbon, coal, lime, calcium chloride, diatomaceous earth and borax,” says Wayne Revell, a Magnum application engineer.
Decades of Expertise in Pneumatic Conveying and Packaging
"We leverage more than 50 years of experience in pneumatic conveying and packaging," says David Wollenberg, test lab manager at Magnum Systems.
This vast experience has earned them the trust of industry giants such as USG, Huber and Mississippi Lime, establishing Magnum Systems as a go-to systems integrator and a reliable and adept partner for long-term growth.
“Another common use of pneumatic conveying in the industry is to convey additives to a blender and combine minerals and other ingredients to create a usable product such as plaster or oilfield drilling fluids,” says Revell.
Pneumatic Conveying
Magnum offers dilute and dense-phase solutions in pneumatic conveying depending on the customer's needs, setting them apart from competitors who may only offer one of these solutions. They also manufacture Type 2 and Type 8 abrasion-resistant airlocks, complete with a cavity air purge option to minimize wear between the rotor and the end plates.
Magnum Systems offers a unique solution using an H-valve for customers requiring PD trailer and railcar unloading solutions. This system manages the unloading process, reducing labor requirements and maximizing convey rates.
Revell explains, “Magnum also provides equipment for the dense and dilute transfer of products based on the application and will include storage silos, structures, load out spouts for rail or truck, sizing and process equipment within our scope.”
Packaging
Our packaging solutions are highly diverse. From filling standard industry valve bags weighing between 50 and 110 pounds to filling bulk bags weighing up to 4,000 pounds for bulk use or overseas transport, Magnum has you covered. Our model IBC-3000 and IBC-4000 bulk bag-fill stations can function as standalone stations or be combined with pallet dispensing and conveyors to enhance throughput and minimize operator involvement.
Magnum Systems also offers a wide range of solutions in the packaging industry, from the Model A air packer and Model IPV impeller packer to the IBC-3000 and IBC-4000 bulk bag fillers. Magnum’s TRV-1000 robotic bag packers can be used with any of our valve bag packers. Their TRP-3000 robotic bag palletizer system further enhances the packaging process by palletizing bags coming from packers, with an option to incorporate shrink or stretch wrappers after palletizing.
“Combining this “front end of line” automation with downstream equipment like bag conditioning and check scales on through to Magnum Systems TRP-3000 robotic palletizer system nearly eliminates all direct labor in a product line,” says Revell.
With Magnum’s holistic approach to pneumatic conveying and packaging, Magnum Systems continues to set the benchmark for the minerals industry.
Wollenberg says, "This is indeed a mile-high look at our involvement with minerals."
Their ongoing commitment to innovation and customer service cements their position as a trusted systems integrator in the global market.
"Total system responsibility from the manufacturer sets us apart from our competitors," asserts Wollenberg.
